Conte expects Hazard to be fit for Crystal Palace clash

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is confident that Eden Hazard will be back to full fitness to face Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Hazard, who’s scored eight goals in the Premier League this season, missed the Blues’ midweek 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, due to picking up a knock against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

The news came late in the day that the Belgian hadn’t travelled with the Blues to the North-East, but his absence may only be for one game.

Conte is expecting Hazard to be back in the side this weekend, as they travel to Selhurst Park to face Palace.

“I think he’s fit. I have to see if I decide to put him in the starting XI, but he trained with us,” Conte told his pre-match press conference.

“We played a lot of games well with Eden, but I need all my players… it’s important to have possibility to choose.”

Hazard, who’s on £200,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge (via the Daily Mail), has been sensational for Chelsea this season as, while their defence and Diego Costa have been grabbing the headlines, he’s also been putting up some superb numbers.

The Belgian international hasn’t only scored eight goals this term, but he’s also won 70% of his average duels, which is the best at Chelsea, having completed 74% of his take-ons.
