Hazard explains why he’s enjoying Chelsea’s new 3-4-3 formation

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has explained why he’s enjoying a more central role for the club with the move to a 3-4-3 formation under Antonio Conte.

The Belgian was one of last season’s notable big-name flops, looking a shadow of his former self as the Blues slumped to a surprising 10th place finish in the Premier League.

However, Hazard looks back to his best this term and was on hand to net against champions Leicester City in a 3-0 victory.

Chelsea also looked improved as a whole in a convincing win at Stamford Bridge, and Hazard has credited his manager for achieving this through the tactical change of altering the defence and his own role in attack.

‘I play more inside the pitch and I don’t stay wide,’ he explained after the match.

‘I play this system with the Belgium side. We have more freedom and we can win the ball back. It is good for us.

‘We did everything – we created a lot of chances, scored three goals and didn’t concede. It’s good to be back and take three points.’
