Henry: Everyone in football wants Wenger to beat Mourinho on Saturday

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes the football world wants to see Arsene Wenger beat Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Gunners take on Manchester United at Old Trafford where Wenger’s side have the chance to put a seven-point gap between themselves and the Red Devils.

Wenger is yet to beat one of Mourinho’s side in 14 competitive meetings and the pair nearly came to blows during Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Arsenal last October.

Mourinho has aimed a number of digs at the Frenchman over the years and Wenger said he was ’embarrassed’ for Mourinho following the Portuguese’s claim that his rival is a ‘specialist in failure’.

And Henry, who spent seven years in north London, says the football world is waiting for Wenger to win against Mourinho.

‘Can Arsene Wenger win a game against Jose Mourinho in the league? That’s what everyone wants to see,’ said Henry.

‘Obviously Mourinho does something tactically that stops Wenger from winning.

‘But Arsene has had a lot of opportunities to win a game against a side Mourinho was coaching – I am talking about the league – so when is it going to happen?

‘It’s interesting to see how they’re going to behave and play against United, especially with what happened last season.’
