Hernan Perez: I’d choose Chelsea ahead of Madrid and Barcelona

Espanyol playmaker Hernan Perez has revealed that his “dream” is to play for Chelsea, ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Perez signed for Espanyol from Villarreal last summer, and has thus far registered six goals in 24 league games.

The 27-year-old also has a fiery streak though, earning a team-high eight yellow cards this term.

With plenty of change set to take place at Stamford Bridge this summer as a new manager is to be hired, Perez has now put his name in the proverbial hat for a potential switch to west London.

The south Amercian playmaker has shocked supporters of the Catalonian club by admitting that he’d love to leave if Chelsea came in for him, and he’d even turn down offers from La Liga’s giants to sign for the Blues.

“Since I started playing football, my target was always to play in the Premier League and I will not stop until I get it,” Perez told La Nacion.

“I dream of playing for Chelsea, I always liked them, ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“If I get to choose, I will not hesitate to go to England.”

The Blues may well be looking at acquiring plenty of new players this summer, too, with Antonio Conte reportedly set to take over.

Conte is one of the biggest names in the managerial world so he may arguably be looking for players of higher calibre than Perez, who has demonstrated a poor pass accuracy of 70% in La Liga this season.

Both Espanyol and Chelsea are enduring mid-table league seasons, with the Blues recently exiting the Champions League and FA Cup too.
