Ibrahimovic to leave Sweden’s Euro 2016 preparations to sign for Man Utd

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to fly to Manchester within the next week to complete a transfer to Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic has long been linked with the Red Devils and with Jose Mourinho appointed as manager last week, it now appears that the out-of-contract Paris Saint-Germain striker is ready to reunite with his former Inter Milan boss.

The Portuguese has already been linked with a number of big-name stars since his arrival but none more so than the Swede, who will reportedly sign with United, despite the lack of Champions League football for 2016/17 – a competition which is still yet to be won by the 34-year-old.

Sky Sports reported on Friday night that Ed Woodward had met with the player’s representatives to agree terms on a one-year deal at Old Trafford and less than 24 hours later, the Mirror now believe that he will fly to Manchester before Euro 2016 to put pen to paper.

It is believed by the Guardian, that United have agreed a £220,000-a-week contract with the centre-forward, who scored 38 goals in only 31 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.

Ibrahimovic is currently preparing for the European Championships with Sweden but coach Erik Hamren has hinted that Ibrahimovic would be allowed to leave the training camp to complete his move.

“We have days off. We plan our activities and the players can act based on that,” he said, as quoted by the Express.
