Liverpool have scored more injury time goals than any Premier League side

Christian Benteke‘s late equaliser for Liverpool against Chelsea was the club’s fifth goal after the 90th minute, more than any other side in the Premier League.

Benteke was brought on as a late substitute by manager Jurgen Klopp, as he chased the game against Chelsea who led through Eden Hazard.

The gamble paid off when Sheyi Ojo floated a cross over from the left, and Asmir Begovic flapped at it, palming the ball straight into the path of Benteke, who headed home.

All five of the injury time goals that Liverpool have scored this season in the league have come under Klopp.

The club also scored a crucial late goal in Europe, with Dejan Lovren’s dramatic winner against Borussia Dortmund coming in added time.

Klopp fielded a strong team against Chelsea, even though they face Sevilla in the Europa League final in just under a week.

The Reds face West Bromwich Albion on the final day of the season, the last chance players will have to impress Klopp before the final.

Should Liverpool win that game against Sevilla, not only will they become the first English team to win a European cup since 2013, they will also qualify for the group stages of next season’s Champions League.
