Man City Learn Asking Price For Fulham’s Antonee Robinson

Manchester City reportedly learn what it will take to secure the signature of Fulham defender Antonee Robinson this summer.

Pep Guardiola has attempted to bolster his first-team squad at the Etihad Stadium by signing a number of young players.

However, left-back has proven to be a problem position, with Benjamin Mendy initially suspended by the club due to a court case in which he was partially acquitted.

Joao Cancelo, who can play on either flank, has gone on loan to Bayern Munich due to alleged frustration with his playing time, while Sergio Gomez has failed to build on his quick start at the club.

Instead, Nathan Ake is being used there more frequently than in the centre, highlighting the need for Guardiola to address the situation during the next transfer window.

According to The Sun, the North-West club is interested in signing Robinson ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The 25-year-old has recovered from the disappointment of passing up a transfer to AC Milan earlier in his career due to a failed medical to establish himself as a key player for club and country.

In his two and a half seasons at Craven Cottage, Robinson made 89 appearances for Fulham. He also participated fully in all four of the USA’s World Cup games.

Although Fulham would naturally like to keep Robinson, his contract with the West Londoners expires in less than 18 months.

According to the report, Fulham would be willing to sell the attack-minded full-back for a fee in the region of £35m.

As of right now, it is unclear whether Robinson is willing to consider a contract extension with Fulham, who are attempting to qualify for European football in 2023-24.
