Nemanja Matic was keen to thank Chelsea fans for their support after completing his move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The Serbian midfielder has become Jose Mourinho’s third summer signing after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at Old Trafford.
Matic helped Chelsea win two titles following his move to west London from Benfica in 2014 and insists he enjoyed his time in the English capital.
‘I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support,’ Matic told the Manchester United official website.
‘I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them.’

Matic’s future at Chelsea appeared bleak after Antonio Conte completed a move to bring Tiemoue Bakayoko to Stamford Bridge.
Explaining his decision to sign for United, Matic added: ‘I am delighted to have joined Manchester United. To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
‘This is a very exciting time for the club and I am looking forward to playing my part in creating more history for this great club.’
A statement on Chelsea’s website said: ‘Nemanja Matic has today completed a permanent transfer to Manchester United.
‘The Serbian departs Stamford Bridge having played a pivotal role in two Premier League title triumphs, as well as winning the League Cup with the Blues.
‘We thank Nemanja for his fantastic service and wish him well for the future.’
