PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot slams French side after Real Madrid loss

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has torn into his side after their 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

The Frenchman gave his side the lead in the first half but the bore witness to a second half collapse as a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo and a goal from Marcelo gave the Spanish side firm control of the last-16 tie.

‘I am disappointed,’ Rabiot told BeIN after the match. ‘We started by producing the match that we needed to.

‘We always say the same things, we always do the same things, and in the end, we are always floored in the same way.’

The French giants, who lead Ligue 1 by eight points, are once again dominating things on home soil this term but it is in Europe where their true ambitions lie.

‘It’s all well and good putting eight goals past Dijon, but it’s in matches like this that you have to stand up and be counted,’ a clearly furious Rabiot continued.

The 22-year-old’s team-mate, Julian Draxler, was also dissapointed but maintained there is still all to play for in the second leg at the Parc des Princes.

‘It is very frustrating we let the match slip out of out hands in the end,’ he said.

‘But we should not be too negative. A 2-0 at home is clearly possible.’
