REPORT: Arsenal at risk of losing frustrated Sanchez

Arsenal could be at risk of losing Alexis Sanchez after it emerged the Chilean is growing frustrated at his manager Arsene Wenger.

Sanchez enjoyed a fine debut campaign in England last term, netting a club- high 16 Premier League goals and lifting the FA Cup with his north London team-mates.

But the 2015/16 campaign hasn’t gone as well for the former Barcelona man, who has struggled for consistency with Arsenal falling off the pace and resigned to a 12th year without a top-flight title.

Sanchez unequivocally remains the Gunners’ most prized asset but with just two years left to run on his current contract, the Telegraph report that Arsenal may be facing a battle to convince their star to extend his stay at the Emirates.

The newspaper claims that the 27-year-old is getting annoyed at the Emirates and after the winger was subbed off against Norwich last week, he didn’t only storm down the tunnel without acknowledging Wenger, but also left the stadium completely.

It will be a worry for the Arsenal faithful, who are already growing disillusioned with Wenger’s reign at the club, with large sections of the support calling on the Frenchman to step down from his post.

Furthermore, the newspaper adds that Wenger isn’t too impressed with the attacker’s attitude, describing their relationship as ‘frosty’ in training this week.

Upsetting Sanchez could be the final straw but despite the player-manager differences, the 27-year-old forward is expected to start against Manchester City on Sunday as the Gunners bid to step up their bid for second place, which Sanchez will be key to if they are to overtake Tottenham Hotspur in the closing stages of the term.
