Revealed: What Ronaldo said to Sir Alex Ferguson in tunnel meeting

Cristiano Ronaldo once described former manager Sir Alex Ferguson as a father figure, and after Saturday’s Champions League final it seems the Scot is still a huge fan of his one-time winger too.

Ronaldo struck a brilliant brace against Juventus to secure his fourth European title, as well as winning the man of the match award as he finished top scorer in the tournament.

And Ronaldo was delighted to see his old boss – in Cardiff as a Uefa ambassador – in the tunnel after the match, introducing him to his son and affectionately still calling him ‘boss’.

But Cristiano Junior let slip a little secret about Ferguson, revealing how the former Manchester United manager reacted when Ronaldo opened the scoring.

Translating for his son, you can just make out Ronaldo telling Sir Alex: ‘He said you went crazy when I scored!’

It would appear that Ferguson wasn’t quite the neutral spectator many would have assumed, apparently celebrating wildly as Ronaldo struck in each half to see off Juventus.

The veteran manager was in Cardiff to award the man of the match award, getting a second opportunity to chat to and embrace Ronaldo as he handed him the prize.
