Roma sporting director visits Chelsea as Conte moves to sign £34m Nainggolan

RADJA NAINGGOLAN’S switch to Chelsea moved a step closer today after Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini was photographed outside Stamford Bridge.

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has targeted the Belgian as a key part of the new team he intends to build at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues reportedly opened talks with Roma over a summer deal for the Nainggolan this week.

And now Corriere dello Sport claim to have a picture of Sabatini standing outside Stamford Bridge today at 1.45pm.

They add he was in London discussing a move to the Premier League for the Belgium international, who is valued at £34million.

It is highly unlikely Sabatini was there for personal reasons as he although he plans to leave Roma at the end of the season, he has insisted he will not be moving to London.

“There’s no mystery around my future. I asked (President James) Pallotta to rescind my contract on June 30 and he accepted,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“Will I be heading to London? No, I speak terrible English!”
