Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club are actively seeking another attacking player in the transfer window.
The Gunners have already completed the signings of Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding this summer, but it seems they are not done yet.
According to reports Arsenal are to launch a new £33 million bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after their initial offer was publicly rebuffed by the French club.
Although Wenger has shown no interest in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, the Gunners manager admitted they are currently short in attacking positions, and are seeking one more addition to the squad.
“I have, at the moment, not too many attacking options of experienced players,” he said after their 2-1 win over MLS All Stars, as reported by The Evening Standard.
“Let’s not forget that we still have a few players at home and a few players who didn’t play today like [Santi Cazorla]. And of course we have [Mesut Ozil] and [Aaron Ramsey] at home and [Olivier Giroud] is not here.
“So we have options, but we still look outside to find one more.”
Without those players, who are on holiday following international duty at Euro 2016, Arsenal started with Theo Walcott, Joel Campbell and Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain as their attackers against MLS All Stars.
Campbell opened the scoring from the penalty spot, with Chuba Akpom coming off the bench to score a 87th-minute winner in San Jose.
Wenger has already seen Leicester striker Jamie Vardy turn down the opportunity to join the Gunners, while Lyon rejected an initial £29.5 million bid for Lacazette.
The 25-year-old French striker scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season and could add valuable fire power to Arsenal, who relied heavily upon Giroud.
