Willian dismisses rumoured PSG interest and aims to retire at Chelsea

Willian has shaken off rumours linking him with a transfer to Paris-Saint Germain and says he would love to finish his career with Chelsea.

The Brazilian was touted as a target for Unai Emery’s Ligue 1 giants over the summer but a deal never actually happened with the winger remaining at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old established himself as one of Chelsea’s most crucial players last season, winning the club’s player of the year award after a strong campaign in what was otherwise a dismal season for the side.

And Willian has now confirmed he is not considering a potential move from the Blues and is open to extending his current contract, which expires in 2020.

The winger would be 31-years-old when that deal ends and Willian is hopeful that he will be able to end his career and retire while still at Chelsea.

Willian told French Football: “I read some things in the press on this topic but personally, I never received a concrete offer from PSG.

“My family feels good in London and I love the Premier League, which is the best in the world.

“I am growing in a team that plays beautiful football, something which is important in my eyes. For all of these reasons, I intend to see out my contract and perhaps even extend it a little further if the club offers me the chance.

“It would be a privilege to finish my career at a club as big as Chelsea.”
