Arsenal ‘Open To Selling Folarin Balogun In The Summer’

Arsenal are considering selling Folarin Balogun this summer, with the striker unwilling to return to the bench after a successful loan spell in France.

The Gunners have had their greatest Premier League season in two decades, with Mikel Arteta’s side leading the table by six points.

Balgoun has fallen further down the pecking order while on loan at Reims, with Gabriel Jesus heading the line and several first-team players providing adequate support.

However, the situation is compounded by the England Under-21 international’s emergence as one of the best young forwards in Europe’s top five leagues.

Only Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David have scored more goals in Ligue 1 than the 21-year-old.

Balogun has outperformed expectations, with the initial goal being regular game time for a year following an unimpressive season with Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Instead, Balogun is now regarded as one of the continent’s most in-demand frontmen, and he will have a plethora of options at the end of the season.

According to The Times, Arsenal is considering selling Balogun to bankroll future summer deals.

With Eddie Nketiah on a long-term deal and Leandro Trossard fast establishing himself as an important team member at the Emirates Stadium, Balogun is unlikely to be more than third choice.

The North Londoners are also aware that Balogun has failed to make an impact in English football, with only two starts and eight substitute appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.

In recent days, it has been stated that Balogun has no interest in signing a new deal, which expires in 2025, leaving Arsenal even more confident that a sale would benefit all sides.
