Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Nordi Mukiele will not play again this season ue to a hamstring injury.
The former RB Leipzig player, who joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer, has not featured for the French champions since injuring himself against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last month.
Mukiele came off the bench to replace the injured Marquinhos in the second leg of their last-16 match at the Allianz Arena, but he only lasted eight minutes before being substituted.
The 25-year-old has already missed each of PSG’s last four Ligue 1 matches, and the Parisiens have now confirmed that his issue is serious enough to require surgery.
Mukiele will undergo surgery in Finland later on Tuesday, and he has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he begins the long road to recovery.
“Nordi Mukiele is suffering from a serious hamstring injury. To minimise the risk of recurrence, the Paris Saint-Germain medical staff opted for an operation,” a medical update read.
“The operation will be performed in Finland today and will keep him out of action until the end of the season.”

Mukiele ended his debut season at PSG with three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions, starting 12 games in Ligue 1 and just one during the club’s limited Champions League campaign.
The French international also missed eight games in January and February due to a hamstring injury, and his new setback adds to PSG’s well-documented injury crisis since the turn of the year.
Neymar (ankle) and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles) have already suffered season-ending injuries, and veteran midfielder Marco Verratti missed the weekend’s victory against Nice due to a hamstring issue.
