FC Barcelona is conscious of their financial difficulties, yet they continue to monitor top market players. The club has completed the signings of Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Vitor Roque, all on financially feasible terms.
Despite the difficult economic circumstances, Bernardo Silva is a pipe dream that the Catalan giants cling to.
Barcelona, according to Diario AS, continues to fantasize about signing the Portuguese. The deal, however, is all but impossible absent an unexpected huge sell or a swap exchange.
Pep Guardiola admitted last summer that “Bernardo Silva genuinely likes Barcelona.” The player’s personal desire to join and Xavi’s affection for the midfielder have pushed the likelihood of a transfer forward.

Nonetheless, Bernardo’s contractual responsibilities with Manchester City make his possible arrival a pipe dream for the Blaugranes. In contrast to Gündogan, who was easily obtained as a free agent, Ferran Soriano and Txiki are unwilling to part ways with Bernardo due to his high value.
As a result, Barcelona can only hope to recruit him if they make a stunning offer, which is unlikely until one of the club’s key players is put on the market. Barcelona attempted to sell Frenkie de Jong last season in order to sign Bernardo, but the deal fell through.
The Blaugranes may now consider moving Frenkie for Bernardo or adding some of their other players, but this is doubtful given Frenkie’s increasing importance in the squad following his good performances last season.
Xavi considers Bernardo Silva, who is 28 years old, to be one of those unique players that always executes the play as it is called for.
