Liverpool Have No Intention To Sell Player Amid Interest From Saudi Arabia

Liverpool are reportedly not interested in selling Luis Diaz, who is a subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in this summer transfer window.

According to The Times, Diaz is the latest Liverpool player to have “attracted interest” from Saudi Arabia.

Paul Joyce has stated that the Reds have no intention of selling. And that the rumored £43 million price would be considerably below any expectations from the club. Al-Hilal have not yet made a formal approach for the forward.

The Guardian has reiterated that Diaz is not up for sale. But that an offer from Al-Hilal is soon to be anticipated.

Two of Liverpool’s midfielders (Jordan Henderson and Fabinho) are poised to move to the Saudi Pro League, which may explain the club’s reluctance to let go of their new No. 7.

While negotiations for Fabinho’s £40 million transfer to Al-Ittihad is closing in. Negotiations for Henderson appear to have halted over a transfer fee. Despite his ambition to join Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq.

Diaz had a strong start to 2022/23, scoring four goals and providing three assists across all competitions. Before a knee injury forced him to miss about six months of footballing action.

He joined the club from Porto 18 months ago for a little under £50 million. Demonstrating how insufficient the current stated funds coming from Saudi Arabia are.

The Reds’ position appears to be that they have no intention of letting another of their important players consider joining the constantly expanding league. And that it would require much more money than what is expected to be offered in the near future.
