Chelsea Agree Terms With Aubameyang Ahead Of Move

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms. Chelsea now has to pay Barcelona’s €25m (£21.4m/$25m) asking price for a deal to go through.

Barca wants £21.4m for the international from Gabon, and negotiations between the two teams are said to be going well.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang wants his future decided as soon as possible so he can focus on the season ahead.

Aubameyang is expected to sign a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge, with an additional year’s option.

The footballer is presently residing in a hotel after being the victim of a house robbery last week.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has a solid relationship with Aubameyang from their time together at Borussia Dortmund, and after a shaky start to 2022-23, the head coach hopes the Gabonese international can inspire the club.

In the meantime, Barca are also hoping to sign Blues’ wing back Marcos Alonso. He has been linked to the club throughout the summer.

Alonso’s name has been put on the table by Chelsea in a swap deal for Aubameyang, but Barca were reportedly unwilling to have a swap deal.

Barcelona is hoping that the departure of Aubameyang and the potential move of Miralem Pjanic would free up money so they can bolster their roster before the transfer window shuts. Reports say they are optimistic about signing the Chelsea left-back.
