Duffy full of praise for Trossard

Shane Duffy has heaped praise on Leandro Trossard after his recent exploits for Brighton in the Premier League. Trossard joined Brighton in the summer on a four-year contract after some impressive displays in his homeland with Genk.
The winger hit 14 goals in the Belgian top-flight last season to help Genk to the title and Graham Potter felt he could play a big role for the Seagulls.
He was the second arrival at the Amex following Potter’s appointment, with the Seagulls paying a reported £18million for his services.
Brighton saw off Watford 3-0 on the opening day of the season although Trossard was an unused substitute at Vicarage Road.
The 24-year-old was handed his first appearance the following week and he repaid Potter’s faith when he netted in a 1-1 draw against West Ham.
Seagulls fans got a further look at their new addition in games against Southampton and Manchester City although he picked up an injury against the latter and was sidelined for almost a month.
Trossard returned to the first-team fold to help Brighton beat Everton on October 26 before coming off the bench to score and assist in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Norwich.
Duffy, who also netted against the Canaries, believes the Belgium Under-21 international has brought something different to the club and expects Trossard to only get better. “He (Trossard) is his own player, he is quite unique and someone we don’t have. He has been brilliant, a breath of fresh air since he has come in,” Duffy said. “But you have got to build him up slowly and he is still adapting to a new country, a new league. You can see glimpses of him when he comes on and he changed the game for us.”
Brighton will need Trossard to be firing on all cylinders for their upcoming matches as they prepare to embark on a tricky-looking run.
A trip to Manchester United is next on the agenda before fixtures with Leicester, Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolves.
