Inter Miami Refuse To Rule Out Lionel Messi Transfer From PSG

Inter Miami coach Phil Neville has said that his side are still looking to sign World Cup winner Lionel Messi to Major League Soccer.

The 35-year-current old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of June, However, according to Marca, the 35-year-old is expected to stay with PSG and sign a contract extension.

“There are discussions, the sports management has exchanged with Leo on the subject of an extension. I do not know where it is,” PSG head coach Christophe Galtier stated on Tuesday.

“Leo seems happy to me in Paris. Afterwards, you have to see his position in relation to the project of the club. It’s a subject I don’t discuss with him.”

Messi is believed to be ready and willing to extend his contract in Paris, with a return to Barcelona now considered unlikely.

However, Neville has insisted that “the landscape has not changed at all” and has refused to rule out the Argentina international playing in the MLS this season.

“We want to bring the best players in the world to this club, and he is probably the best player, so the landscape hasn’t changed at all,” Neville said during a press conference.

“With any deal for any DP (Designated Player) of that level, it’s complicated. It takes time.”
