West Yorkshire Police informed Leeds United that a threat had been made against the club on Friday morning.
Police are reportedly conducting checks around Elland Road as a result of a threat made on social media, The Athletic claimed.
Elland Road is currently quieter than normal due to the international break. But Leeds still had to take immediate action after being notified by the authorities.
What Did Leeds United Say About The Potential Threat?
The club released the following statement:
“Leeds United’s offices, ticket office, Foundation offices and club shop at Elland Road will be closed until further notice on the advice of the police.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and we will inform the public when normal service resumes.”
This is not the first occasion this season that police have warned a Premier League club about security threats.
Following a series of defeats, Everton’s directors and board members were told to avoid the team’s league match against Southampton in January at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside club said the officials were instructed to stay away. Following “malicious and unacceptably threatening correspondence received by the club. And increasing incidents of anti-social behaviour – including targeted physical aggression – at recent home matches.”

Leeds, who narrowly avoided being relegated last season. Now find themselves in an untenable position in the Premier League table.
With just six victories in 27 games this season. The Yorkshire team is just two points above the drop zone.
Jesse Marsch was fired last month. This is less than a year after he succeeded the adored Marcelo Bielsa as manager.
Former Watford gaffer, Javi Gracia took over as his successor and has won two of his first four league games.
After the international break, Leeds will play the Premier League’s table toppers, Arsenal on Saturday, April 1.
