Lewandowski To Barca: ‘I want to make history’

Robert Lewandowski declares that he is eager to continue Barcelona’s winning streak and explains that he feels he is in the “ideal situation” to carry on creating his legacy.

The much awaited deal of the Poland international from Bayern Munich to Camp Nou was completed earlier this week, and he was present to see them defeat Inter Miami in a preseason friendly on Tuesday.

After completing his transfer from the Bundesliga, the experienced forward—who has now won the European Golden Shoe two seasons in a row—is prepared to help write a new chapter.

Lewandowski’s Remarks On His Move To Barcelona

“I am very happy to be here,” the striker said at his official presentation. “Yesterday I saw the potential that this team has and I am ready to be part of this great club.”

“In the world of football it’s very important to want to win, and I think I’m in the best place to do it.”

“There is a lot of quality in the team and a lot of potential. I am at a good club. We have a lot of work to do and I am very happy. I am ready to play the next game.”

When Might Lewandowski Make His Debut For Barcelona?

After watching from the stands as his new club, propelled by another new arrival in Brazil winger Raphinha, ran havoc against Miami in a 6-0 defeat, Lewandowski might make his debut in the biggest club derby of all.

At Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Barcelona will face Real Madrid in a preseason version of El Clasico on Saturday. Both teams hope to make a statement before the new season.

If Lewandowski is unable to play in any way in that match because it is too early, he may make his debut three days later when Barcelona plays Juve in a heavyweight European match at the Cotton Bowl in Texas.
