Argentina football icon Lionel Messi has joined American side Inter Miami after leaving French champions Paris St-Germain.
According to CNN, Lionel Messi officially joined Inter Miami on Wednesday.
Lionel Messi made his official announcement during a news conference with the media, saying, βThe decision has been made and I will join Inter Miami. If money was the issue, I would have joined Saudi Arabia or other destinations.
“The truth is that the reason for my decision is something else, not money.β
Messi said in a statement to the media, βI would have loved to join Barcelona but did not want to face a similar situation which took place two years ago, and I wanted to make my own decision and think about myself and my family.β

βI had an offer from a club in Europe, but it was not important because, in Europe, I only wanted to play for Barcelona,β he added.
Following Messiβs departure from Paris St-Germain, it was expected that he would join his cold club Barcelona, which did not happen.
βAfter winning the World Cup and not being able to go to Barca, itβs time to go to MLS to live football in a different way and enjoy my day-to-day life more,” he said.
Meanwhile, Barcelona also released a statement saying Messi had chosen a Miami move over an offer from the Catalan club.
