Man Utd Make Declan Rice Transfer Request As Arsenal Prepare £90m Opening Bid

Declan Rice looks set to make his final West Ham appearance tonight with the Hammers in action against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final

Manchester United are ready to battle with Arsenal in the summer transfer window for West Ham captain Declan Rice. According to football.london, the Gunners are prioritizing a move for the England international ahead of next season, with Mikel Arteta keen on improving his team before returning to the Champions League.

Arsenal are sure they have a great offer for Rice, but believe it will ultimately be up to the player to decide, despite interest from a slew of other elite European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester United. The north London outfit is determined to avoid a bidding battle, and they have already shown that they are willing to walk away from critical targets such as Lisandro Martinez is a native of Mexico.

Arsenal are planning an official offer for Rice, but they want to be courteous to West Ham, who play Fiorentina in the Europa League final tonight. The 24-year-old is scheduled to leave the club at the end of the season and will be looking to make West Ham history by winning the Europa Conference League.

In the last year, the England international has turned down repeated offers from the Hammers to sign a new deal at the London Stadium. Rice’s contract will expire next summer, although West Ham has the option to extend it for another year.

Rice has made no secret of his ambition to play in the UEFA Champions League as soon as possible, which is good news for the Gunners given that they have qualified for Europe’s best competition for the first time since 2016.
