Manchester United have made contact with Inter Milan in order to beat Liverpool to the €80 million signing of Nicolo Barella, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are in talks over a big-money midfielder deal, and Newcastle and Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign one of the USA’s biggest names, according to Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk.

Manchester United are reportedly making phone calls to Inter Milan in an attempt to sign Nicolo Barella.
The Italy midfielder had an outstanding 2022/23 season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 51 appearances. His talismanic form helped propel the Nerazzurri to the Champions League final, where they were defeated by Manchester City.

Despite this, Barella’s stock has improved as a result, with a move to the Premier League being heavily considered. To that reason, Liverpool are allegedly interested in signing him as Jurgen Klopp tries to reinforce his midfield.
On Monday, the 45-cap Italy star emerged as a possible target for Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino also a fan.
Inter, on the other hand, is dead set on keeping their star player. And, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they are looking to get rid of a lot of undesirable items stars first, before Barella. To that end, Robin Gosens is a €15m target for Union Berlin, while Marcelo Brozovic is a target for cash-rich Saudi Arabian clubs.
All the same, Inter know every player has a price and they claim Manchester United are now in contact and ‘making calls’ over a deal for Barella.
To that end, they are reportedly informing the Red Devils that Barella will come with a minimum €80m (£68.5m) fee.
Man Utd also chasing Theo Hernandez alongside Barella
According to Calciomercato, meanwhile, United have also put in a call to AC Milan to enquire about Theo Hernandez.
The 25-year-old Frenchman is regarded as one of the finest left-backs in world football. Counting Real Madrid among his former clubs, he has found himself linked with a move to United this summer.
