Roy Keane affirm Manchester United won’t challenge for the Premiere League tittle this season.
After a difficult start to the summer transfer season, United have begun to make progress, with Tyrell Malacia joining from Feyenoord and Lisandro Martinez expected to sign from Ajax.
United are still in talks with Barca midfielder Frenkie de Jong, and the club has also been linked with Ajax winger Antony as Ten Hag aims to build a championship side.
The Dutch manager appeared to have had an instant impact, as United thrashed Liverpool 4-0 during their first pre-season friendly on Tuesday in Bangkok.
However, Roy Keane, a former United captain, maintains that it would take more time for United to catch up to their rivals and doesn’t see them as league winners this season.
Keane said “The manager no doubt will be given money to spend, how he recruits, four or five experienced players have left the club, which I think is a good thing,”
“But I still don’t see United competing with Liverpool and Manchester City, not just yet.”

Tottenham have completed a number of transfers this summer, including Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, and Clement Lenglet, while London rivals Chelsea have also brought in Raheem Sterling and are likely to complete the transaction of Kalidou Kouliably from Napoli.
Meanwhile, Arsenal has signed numerous players, including Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.
Keane, however, does not believe that the chase group will be able to get up to the top two finishers from the previous season.
“I think they will be a bit better. They have quality and the recruitment, but you can’t look beyond Liverpool and Man City,” he added.
Keane believes that after purchasing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, City, who are competing for a fifth league title in as many seasons, have an advantage over Liverpool.
