Pedri’s Gesture Towards Ansu Fati At Barcelona Bus Parade Delights Fans

At the team’s bus parade on Monday, FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri made a kind gesture toward teammate Ansu Fati that has delighted fans all over the world plus the media.

The Blaugrana departed their Camp Nou stadium and traveled through Barcelona’s city center to the Arc de Triomf to express their gratitude to their supporters for their support this season aboard an open-top bus that had “champions” written across it.

It’s a season that will conclude with Barca winning both La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

After winning 4-2 away at Espanyol on Sunday to clinch the domestic top division, the men’s and women’s teams went out to meet the public together.

The short four-mile trip took well over three hours as Barca were surrounded by enthusiastic supporters on every street and avenue they traveled.

Yet it is just one small part of the journey that has, perhaps, garnered the greatest attention.

As a major fan favorite, Pedri was frequently greeted with chants of his name as it was commonplace on matchday at Camp Nou.

However, Pedri intelligently pointed to Ansu Fati and requested that they shout the 20-year-old’s name instead as he knew that his club and national teammate needed a lift.

The fans obliged and then took to cheering Ansu Fati’s name.

The Spanish press picked up on the gesture, calling it “wonderful”, and “noble”.

Will Fati Leave Barcelona?

Ahead of next term, the youngster who came roaring out of the La Masia academy in 2019 but has had his progress blighted by constant injuries while featuring low down coach Xavi Hernandez’s pecking order could be sold.

SPORT reports that his agent Jorge Mendes has guaranteed Barca a €70m ($76m) offer for Fati from the Premier League.
