Pundit Claims Tottenham Midfielder Is ‘Far Better Than Bellingham’

Liverpool icon and pundit, Graeme Souness has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, James Maddison is on a level higher than Real Madrid star, Jude Bellingham.

Tuesday night in Hampden saw Gareth Southgate’s England defeat Scotland 3-1 in a friendly match. Bellingham started in the middle of the park once more, and Maddison was benched following the draw with Ukraine.

Los Blancos midfielder put on an incredible performance by scoring and providing an assist.

But Souness remarked before the game that the playmaker for Tottenham is ‘much superior’ than the 20-year-old in filling the attacking midfield position.

Many people believed that Maddison would be playing behind Harry Kane for Spurs on the domestic scene. But thereafter, the Three Lions skipper switched to Bayern Munich.

To the dismay of fans, the 26-year-old was utilized in the left-sided front three for his England against Ukraine last week. Despite his impressive start under Ange Postecoglou in an attacking midfield position.

However, Souness had this to say about Maddison and Bellingham before the budding Madrid star helped defeat Scotland last night.

What Did Souness Say About Maddison And Bellingham?

“I am an enormous fan of James Maddison,” said Souness as reported by HITC.

“I think there is room for Maddison and Bellingham in this midfield.

“I think England have a group of players now, going back to when it was Scholes, Lampard and Steven Gerrard, the Golden generation.

“I think these lot are as well. I know they have come close to winning a trophy. I think this is a team that should be winning trophies.
