Coventry City news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues celebrity fan Richard Keys holds Mark Robins up as an example for many Premier League managers to follow
Richard Keys has slammed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, claiming he should emulate Coventry City manager Mark Robins’ demeanor on the sidelines.
The beIN Sports broadcaster and lifelong Sky Blues fan believes the City manager ranks among Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti in terms of pitchside manner and behavior.
Keys criticizes Klopp in his newest blog post for his reaction to earning a yellow card from referee Paul Tierney during Sunday’s 4-3 Anfield victory over Tottenham. Klopp claimed the match official said something “not OK,” which the refs’ group PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) “strongly refute” after thoroughly reviewing the audio from Tierney’s microphone.
“I read on Monday that the FA are likely to charge Klopp for what he said about Tierney to the host broadcaster after the game,” Keys stated in his post-match interview. I’m not concerned about that unless it’s proven he lied, but I am concerned about how he acted after Liverpool’s winner.

“The way he approached fourth official John Brooks was a disgrace.” He’s also got the form for it, despite the fact that he strained his hamstring in the process and claims that revenge was rapid – it wasn’t. The FA should prosecute him for his heinous, hostile behavior.”
He added: “Please – don’t talk to me about ‘passion’ and ‘wanting to win’. Every coach wants to win. Every coach has ‘passion’ – they just don’t behave like a drunken parent on the touchline, watching their son/daughter in a Sunday League match. How many times have I mentioned Arteta’s behaviour this season? Guardiola can be as bad.
