Two Arsenal Stars Out For The Rest Of Season

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has revealed two of his players are out for the remainder of the season.

After blowing their title chances, Arsenal duo, Gabriel Martinelli and Oleksandr Zinchenko will miss the Gunners’ final two league fixtures.

Last Sunday’s 3-0 home loss to Brighton and Hove Albion all but ruined Arsenal’s dwindling title ambitions. With rivals Man City now needing only one victory from their final three games to win the title for the third consecutive season.

However, with only 12 points from a possible 21. Games against Nottingham Forest this Saturday and Wolves at home the following Sunday offer an opportunity to end the season on a high note.

William Saliba, who has been sidelined since suffering a back injury during the club’s Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon, has been seen as the key factor for the team’s collapse. When left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko limped off during the most recent victory against Newcastle, the squad’s frailty was further highlighted.

Then, Gabriel Martinelli, another crucial performer this season who suffered an ankle injury, added to the horror show against Brighton.

According to Mirror Football, the manager has revealed to the media before the team’s departure to the City Ground that Saliba and the other players will not play in the final games.

“They are both out for the rest of the season,” Arteta conceded. “Gabi is a pretty nasty injury. We need to assess in the next week how long he will be out for but it will be at least weeks. And with Alex [Zinchenko] it’s a calf issue and he won’t be available to play the next few weeks.”
