Man Utd Target Gakpo Responds To Transfer Talk After PSV’s Champions League Win Over Monaco

Manchester United target Cody Gakpo has replied to speculation of a move away from PSV Eindhoven. Last season, the 23-year-old was an important member of the PSV club, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 27 league games.

Gapko’s performances have launched him into the spotlight, and he is now garnering interest from some of Europe’s finest clubs, including Manchester United, who are rumoured to be looking for attack reinforcements.

What Did Gakpo Say On His Links To United?

Gakpo hopes to compete in the Champions League, a game that United did not qualify for in 2021–2022.

PSV advanced to the group stage with a 3-2 win against Monaco in the first leg of their third qualifying round encounter on Tuesday, and the Dutchman addressed talk about his future after the game.

“We must first focus on and try to make it to the Champions League,” Gakpo said to ESPN.

“Then it is more likely that I will stay. I don’t think I have said anywhere that I am leaving, so there is definitely a chance that I will stay.

“I’m open for a cup of coffee with the management – or coffee for them and water for me. We’ll see how it goes.”

Who Else Have Manchester United Been Linked To?

Erik ten Hag is desperate to acquire extra firepower up front as Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain.

Ajax winger Antony has been a possible target for United all summer, but his £80 million ($97) price has been a huge obstacle.

Meanwhile, United are waiting for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong to resolve a reported wage disagreement with the Catalan club.

Adrien Rabiot, a Juventus midfielder, is also expected to join United after the two clubs agreed on a final transfer deal earlier this week.
