Juan Mata To Leave Manchester United At The End Of Eight-Year Contract

Juan Mata will leave Manchester United at the end of the month when his eight years contract expires.

David Moyes signed the 34-year-old midfielder from Premier League rivals Chelsea in January 2014, and he went on to make 285 appearances for United, scoring 51 goals.

Mata’s first trophy at Old Trafford came in 2016 when he won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal, and he also helped the team win the Europa League and League Cup the following season under Jose Mourinho.

United said in a statement confirming his exit:  “Thank you for dedicating eight years of your career to United, Juan. Everyone at the club wishes you all the best for the future.”

Mata has only made 12 appearances in all competitions this season under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

The Spaniard will leave the club with Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, who also confirmed their exits from United on Wednesday.
