Watch: Lionel Messi Stops Security From Taking Young Fan Away As He Attempts To Take Selfie With PSG Star

Lionel Messi intervened to prevent security personnel from taking a young fan away after his recent appearance for Paris Saint-Germain, and then allowed the child a photo with him as a reward for his efforts. The talismanic forward was exceptional in PSG’s triumph against Nantes in the Trophee des Champions final on Sunday.

Messi opened the scoring in a 4-0 romp, while Neymar added a brace and Sergio Ramos also scored. After the game, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner showed his class by rushing to the aid of a fan who was desperately trying to take a selfie with him.

After the trophy presentation, Messi was walking down the tunnel at Tel Aviv’s Bloomfield Stadium when a young boy ran towards him holding a mobile phone.

Security guards grabbed the child and began dragging him away from Messi, and he appeared unhappy as his phone slipped from his grasp.

Messi then told the guards to let the fan go and gave him time to get his phone before standing with him for a photo and hugging him.

Well done, Leo.

A simple act of compassion that has provided the little fan with an experience they will never forget.

What Comes Next For PSG?

Messi and co. will return to action on August 6 when they kick off their new Ligue 1 season against Clermont Foot.

PSG will host Montpellier at Parc des Princes seven days later as their title defence officially begins.

PSG will be anticipated to retain their Ligue 1 title with relative ease, especially following their smart summer signings, which included Vitinha, Nordi Mukiele, and Hugo Ekitike joining the Parc Des Princes.

The team’s major goal will be to win the Champions League, especially after their humiliating defeat at the hands of Real Madrid last season.
